On this page we will try to list the recent news and most important updates. However we will only list updates when we consider them to be major.

Sept. 30th: I have finally completed the first part of my article about the Maritime inscription - registers of seamen
Sept. 24th: We have updated the passenger list database with a few new lists from 1842, and made some updates to several of the old lists. The new lists are the Washington, the Tuskina and the Emile of 1842. For those of you who think we have been on a long vacation, I will only say "YOU ARE WRONG". We have actually been working very hard on two new databases that will be launched soon. Also we will be providing a full search for the entire site in the very near future.
July 31st: We have opened a Forum. The forum consists of bullitin board for discussing different topics. We have also got a new Guest book.
July 15th: Added passenger lists for the Emilie for the crossing in 1840 and 1841. Also added a few short passenger lists for ships from Gothenburg carrying Norwegian passengers.
July 13th: During the last week we have updated a large number of pages, improving the navigation and adding small pieces of new information. Added a new page for the Valhalla
July 7th: Added a page for the Sophie sailing from Trondheim in 1850, the hermaphrodite schooner Den gjentagne Prøve from Langesund in 1842. Minor updates to a large number of pages and indexes.
July 4th: Added a page for the Garbaldi. Updated the 1861 index. Updates: Amelia, Alert, Flora, Juno, Nordlyset, Hebe, Nordpolen, Sjofna, Victoria.
July 3rd: New and improved search for the emigrant database. Added a page for brig Erik Børresen
July 1st: Added a new page for the Præciosa sailing in 1861, including a story of the crossing.
June 30th: Added a page for the Favoriten and the Bjørgvin. Updated and added a picture of the Ebenezer page. Added a voyage account for the 1859 voyage of the Nordlyset.
June 26th: Added a passenger list for the 1839 crossing with the Georges with Norwegian emigrants from Gothenburg to new York
June 25th: Updated the Norden page with new material. Added a passenger list for the Niord sailing from Gothenburg with Norwegian emigrants for New York in 1837
June 24th: Added an account for the Norden from the 1864 voyage
June 23rd: Added a passenger list for the 1848 crossing with the Drafna from Drammen
June 19th: Test -   Search the emigrant database    - Test
We are trying out the test version of the searchable emigrant database. June 16th: Added a passenger list for the 1849 crossing with the Claus Thomesen from Skien
June 14th: Added a passenger list for the 1837 crossing with the Ægir from Bergen
June 13th: Added a passenger list for the 1839 crossing with the Emilie from Drammen
June 12th: Added a few short passenger lists for 1839, including the Josephine, Jane and 1837 for the Favoriten. Added passenger list fragments for several ships including the Emerald 1866, Iris 1861, Amelia 1861 and 1859, Sjofna 1859, Emerald 1865, Christiane 1861, Askur 1861, Garibaldi 1861, Flora 1857, Nordlyset 1864, Odin 1854, Ottawa 1866
May 30th: Updated the 1868 index
May 24th: Added a page for the Bravo (Capt. Berger) to Quebec in 1868 Updated the Protector page with a newspaper announcement. Added a passenger list for the Benedicte sailing from Fredrikstad to Australia 1868 - 1869.
May 22nd: Added an account of from the 1869 voyage on the bark Maryland (Capt. Albert E. Hansen) Also some small updates to ship Alma
May 22nd: Added a new page for the brig Tordenskiold (Capt A. Gjerding)
May 21st: Updated the Protector with new information and a picture
May 9th: Updated the Wilhelm Tell with new information and a picture
May 7th: Added a transcript and scan of the 1869 Monsoon passenger list
May 6th: Added a list of passengers for the Hannah Parr 1868 voyage to the passenger list index
May 6th: Updates to the Benedicte page, and added new info concerning this ship to the 1868 and 1869 indexes
May 5th: Updates to the Monsoon page, and added a transcript and scan of the 1868 passenger list
